16.95 To Watch The Boxing

Northern Ireland is full of illegal sky at the minute. Suppliers are charging around £100 for a box and £70 a year subscription and you get all the channels Inc sport, movies etc. And the boxes are actually better than the sky hd boxes as you can record 3 programs at the same time and watch a 4th. It must be hitting sky hard.

Incorrect (Well, misleading).
To receive 4 programs at the same time (to record 3 and watch a 4th), you would have to either :

A : All 4 channels be on the one transponder (One transponder carries a handful of channels, 1 to 10 ish, depending on a number of factors).
B : Have a multi-tuner receiver linked to a multi-LNB (The bit that sits at the end of the arm on your dish......would have multiple connections).

Sky boxes when I last checked were twin tuners, allowing you to watch one channel and record any other.
If you have multiroom, you will need a quad LNB, which means 4 cables then come from your dish, 4 signals.

Also, the problem you have with the pay up front illegal-sky boxes (as I explained in the post above) is that they rely on a constant connection to a legitimate sky card (either via another card sharing box or a server with a card reader).
What if that person got arrested, power cut, ran off with your money etc? You're s*** out of luck :)

Im only going on what i have been told by 2 friends that have it, i dont have it in myself. The guy that they got it from supplies his own boxes so it might have something to do with that.
This one guy has over 700 boxes in peoples homes and he calls once per year for the years subscriptions. I think you take a chance on the supply being reliable but for £70 a year, If you only get 2 months out of it, you are already ££££££'s up.

And also very illegal

There was a chap recently in the news, that was doing the same, who was sentenced to 32 months in prison

And as I said , I dont use it, so I have nothing to worry about. Oh, for a faster than 0.25mbps internet connection:rolleyes:

More than 30 in a built up area, and you do know the point im making.

No never been over 30 in a built up area either

The point you are making is that you are a troll who doesn't seem to understand the basics of law

Just because you can does not make it legal or OK to do so.... no matter how you like to try and dress it up

Apologies, didnt realise you only owned a tricycle

By the way, i do actually agree with you about "just because you can doesn't make it right" and have never said any different so dont really understand your rant about me dressing it up.
