Northern Ireland is full of illegal sky at the minute. Suppliers are charging around £100 for a box and £70 a year subscription and you get all the channels Inc sport, movies etc. And the boxes are actually better than the sky hd boxes as you can record 3 programs at the same time and watch a 4th. It must be hitting sky hard.
Incorrect (Well, misleading).
To receive 4 programs at the same time (to record 3 and watch a 4th), you would have to either :
A : All 4 channels be on the one transponder (One transponder carries a handful of channels, 1 to 10 ish, depending on a number of factors).
B : Have a multi-tuner receiver linked to a multi-LNB (The bit that sits at the end of the arm on your dish......would have multiple connections).
Sky boxes when I last checked were twin tuners, allowing you to watch one channel and record any other.
If you have multiroom, you will need a quad LNB, which means 4 cables then come from your dish, 4 signals.
Also, the problem you have with the pay up front illegal-sky boxes (as I explained in the post above) is that they rely on a constant connection to a legitimate sky card (either via another card sharing box or a server with a card reader).
What if that person got arrested, power cut, ran off with your money etc? You're s*** out of luck
