Quick phone snap out the front of my house.....

Tuh... I'm feeling all left out... we've not had any fresh since Sunday, all we have now is the snice...

This weather is causing me all kinds of problems, I have had to remove the snow from the conservatory 3 times now, luckily the roof has not caved in but I have been unable to prevent the guttering from being damaged , it is now being damaged on the main part of the house as the snow turns to ice where it meets the guttering and then is forced off by the snow sliding down.

I have had to prop up a roof section of an outbuilding that was beginning to sag under the sheer weight of snow.

I have 20 ton of bagged coal over the road that is covered by a large plastic sheet weighed down by an assortment of material, timber, steel, old wheels etc. and with having 2ft of snow on top of all that it is now becoming difficult to access the bags and when I do the bags are frozen solid.

Accessing different parts of the property is very difficult as snow is piled up against doors and those doors had already swelled due to the constant wet weather we had previously making them difficult to open and close.

We have not had any post since Thursday, our post office is refusing any more parcels and is only taking in letters as they have had no collections.

Of lesser importance to some but it bothers me, I can't wash the car:(.

We are now praying we do not have any power cuts!.

I will not go on:D

So you will of course understand why I am not exactly overjoyed with weather like this:).

But on a lighter note it is becoming very comical trying to walk through the snow as there is a hard crust about 6ins below the surface and just when you think you have a good footing it gives way underneath and you go plunging down a further 18 ins , my wife had a good laugh as I struggled across the garden to top up the bird feeders, where consumption at the feeding station has greatly increased.

I did think (briefly) about trying to rescue my car once again.... then it started snowing again.... :bang: :D

White balance is spot on Derek but there is an odd red tint around the front of the car :D

Stop moaning, at least you'll have some photo opportunities.

Probably my blood from attempting to dig it out yesterday - nothing to worry about, I've got some in the fridge for emergencies.... :D

 wonder why he highlighted the bird feeding bit in red...does he think I was moaning about feeding the birds:D

:lol::lol::lol::razz:

Thanks Ed that gave me a good laugh on my birthday

Was working in Pontefract today, definately a winter wonderland.

Took me over 3.5hrs to get home, usually takes 1hr!

started to snow again tonight... nothing major but supposed to continue all night tonight and tomorrow..

Nothing as scary as Galaxy's photo though :)

Over two feet deep now here - much deeper in drifts.

The car is going nowhere soon as it's up to the windows.

We've one little shop in the village and things like bread and milk are like gold dust.

What is strange is that when you go out in it you only sink about 4 or 5 inches so it's like being really tall.

Basingstoke, Hants is covered this morning :)

One very happy bunny, glad I swapped to the 4x4 now :)

We've had a good 4 inches overnight and it's still snowing. The Land Rover went in for service and MOT Tuesday and I get the phone call to say it was ready for collection yesterday afternoon. It was entertaining using the Smart car to collect it but the Smart was surprisingly capable in the snow. Now we've got the Land Rover back it will stay parked up until the snow melts though.

I just ventured out to clear the front steps and my 4 inches was a bit of an under estimation. There's almost a foot of snow on the pavement outside.

Will give you some different view photo ops if you can get anywhere.

About an inch fell here overnight. Wife decided to walk to work, so I may take a duvet day!

What a MAD day.
All flights cancelled, awaiting a update as we speak. Been clearing snow on the aircraft stands, walkways etc all day.

Managed to grab a few shots.
Will post them later, IF I get home :(

we now have well over 20" here and still its falling, the 2 main roads are passable but all the rest are closed if they have a slight hill on them, wagons are stranded everywhere and it took my mate 1hr to get me near my home to walk the rest of the way and we didnt stop once 6 mile in one hour and that was good going

There's a lot of guttering that's come crashing down here - the resulting avalanches are quite impressive. It's not the end of the world if my new plastic stuff comes down but the old cast iron guttering would be a pain.

It's the norm up here to have snow boards on house roofs above a conservertory - well worth considering if you dont have them already.
