I've been in the queue for one day now, and i'm so happy i finally got a response from them and got my free space. I've been experimenting with the program and it's quite smooth, definitely worth the download!
 
Interesting first post - I'd be curious to see it in action.

Looks like it works automatically dont know if you can chose what you back up , will find out
Am planning to use it as a plan B to back up all my jpegs , already use carbonite for all my Raws ect:)
 
That just your position in the queue, not your registered user ID, for example mines now 39843 with 21399 behind me
 
Is there any risk in this as it does seem a lot of storage for nothing ?
I have had a think about it and you are allowing zoolz to access your computer and giving them all your photos
or am I being overly cautious?
just googled though and they do seem genuine

On a totally unrelated topic why do companies sign up for forums, make one outlandish post and leave - even if they are totally legit it makes them look like charlatans.

To good to be true?

How can they afford to "give away" in effect 100 million gigs of online storage and still turn a profit?

Think I'll stick to backing up to DVD or external hard drive if I need to.

Yeah, I have. I have 200gb of files though, so I need to do some work before I can backup.
 
Just started a backup of random snaps, not my Lightroom DNGs. I'll see how this goes.

edit: lol, forgot my password and the recovery option isn't sending an email... just my luck :)

edit 2 - I was a numpty - I hadn't forgotten my password, I'd forgotten I never created an account! I twas so long ago I'd assumed I had.. anyway long story short, when you get the client click on the sign up on the app (not the website) and you're good to go.

After i installed this Zoolz software i found 14 FUP things after running a scan & they were in my registry so i sm unistalling this Zoolz stuff.:thumbsdown:

Can you give a little more detail?

I've looked up FUP and it means all sorts of things but none a term I'm familiar with.

Judging by what Steve wrote I'm running a root kit scan now just in case.

Edit 1 - No rootkits (according to AVG)

^^ What is a FUP?

I found my PC running very slowly once installed an running, I assumed this was just during the initial backup process but it appears Zoolz needs closer investigation..
 
Agreed.

I just just checked my overnight full scan and nothing detected, again AVG with the latest signature.

Checking task manager I'm not seeing anything worrying and feel no slowdown to the PC other than when using the net, but given its maxing my upload I would expect that.
 
FUP,s are trojans & worms that are classed as malicious are hidden inside files,so i have removed all the software from my pc:thumbsdown:
