Dangerous how? If there was a genuine threat, I think we'd know about it by now. I've looked, and can't find any negative reviews or warnings..

got mine now up and running

Will back up all my Jpegs
using with the laptop as I,ve already got carbonite backup running on the desktop and dont want any conflicts

Backup all done now no problems at all

may not ever need to use it to recover my files but its a bit of peace of mind
Used zoolz for my jpegs as a plan B all raws are backed up with carbonite
