Simon's 52 for 2026

Two nice shots there Simon, I like the DOF on the first, excellent. Almost everything in the frame tack sharp, I only ever manage that with wide angle but it does not look that wide.

Thanks Wayne. Fuji X-S10 with a Fuji 16-80 at 17
I need to know what she can see…..
Cheers Alan. Nothing unless she puts 20p in!

Week 7 - Reflections in water

Took a bunch of reflections in puddles, but they were pretty ordinary to be fair. So a different take for me as a watery sun reflects on the Bristol Channel off Penarth. Colours were so muted that mono seemed the obvious choice.

I like that Simon, it's not the usual angle you see of the seafront

Thanks John. It was a pretty dull day, although the sun was trying to poke through. Nothing really of interest to shoot, but I thought a shot into the sun with the reflections might work out.

Mono works well for this Simon. I might have gone with a little gold/yellow toning.

A different take on the theme, shooting into the sun is difficult but it works here

Double sunshine, always a good idea!

Very good Simon, I thought of doing mine but it has Takamine on the headstock

It's a simple composition (that's not a bad thing). Good colours and nicely symmetrical.

Week 9 - Time and tech "Low Key"

I thought of this sundial shot as soon as I saw the theme and I hope I've managed to sort my settings and a touch of PP to get the look right for "Low Key" tech, which I know is more traditionally indoor and portrait style photography, but neither of those is my thing.
