    hard-drive won't accept OS...

It does sound like the Boot sequence could be set wrongly. If the CD/DVD drive is set as first device then it will always default to that and not even look for the HD. I do not work with PC's any longer, so can't remember the keys to open up the BIOS to change the Boot sequence, however that...

    Manual exposure help

Hi, I have bought a 500mm f8 mirror lens for my Nikon D80. It has an adapter which fits into the bayonet on the camera and then the lens screws into the adapter. It also has a 2x convertor which is also screw thread. The manual says that TTL metering should pick up on the exposure and that...

    grip options for d80?

I have the MB-D80, so can't comment on the other. I much prefer using the battery grip now, however I have found that the Nikon battery lasts much longer than the non-genuine one (I have one of each). Hope that helps. Bill

    Compatible inkjet ink?

The trouble with Epson is their ink is so expensive, however do provide excellent prints. Like many I moved over to compatible inks to reduce the cost and found quality to be nearly as good, but was not into photography so much then. I got sick of replacing printers every 13 months (after any...

To grip or not to grip? That is the question...

When I bought my D80 it came with the grip and I was going to sell the grip as I thought it was too big and heavy. How times change, its constantly connected to the camera and I'm getting used to it. I don't like Marmite. Bill

    Large sensor bridge camera?

I sold my DSC-R1 after I bought a Nikon D80. The R1 is a great camera and did produce excellent photos, but did not provide the versatility I wanted, hence the D80. Sorry unable to answer your question though. Bill

Folks! What have you learned from TP?

I have learned that I took snaps, and still do, however there are photographs in my collection now. Also taking a photo is only part of the whole process, the software processing is the bit I wasn't aware of. Thank you TP for helping me, and for making me want to improve. Bill

    Isle of Arran - Suggestions

What memories. I was brought up near Kilmarnock and went to Arran quite often with the school to stay in a croft and climb Goat Fell. I'll look forward to seeing your photos. Bill

    Non OEM D80 batteries

I think for the difference in price I would prefer to get the genuine Nikon item. We spend Hundreds if not thousands on equipment and baulk at £26.00, saying that I have done the same and bought a Tamron lens instead of the Nilkon one (and very happy with the Tamron). Bill
