Hi, I am trying to set up a small studio area to see if I can recoup a few pounds I've spent on camera equip. I'm using a canon 5d2, I don't want to spend a fortune, can anyone give me any advise tips on what to buy?

thanks all - i'll take all on board. just one last thing. Best IS mark ii version I saw is £1500. Does anyone else know of a better deal? Thats interesting about the extender as a few people on here before said they done a decent job.

Hi, I am considering buying one of these lens but am not sure which? Is the IS version worth the extra 600 odd pounds. I am mainly looking the lens to take some photo's at local football matches. Also some long shots at weddings in the church. Any advise is appreciated. I know this...

Thanks all for your advise. I won't really be using it that much at the minute so mite hold off to see what happens this month with the mk III. If it doesn't come down in price a mk II should do my job as I will be spending enough on camera, lens etc

Hi all, I am considering buying a Canon Extender EF 1.4x. I believe there is currently a Canon Extender EF 1.4x II at around £215 and Canon Extender EF 1.4x III around £525. Is the third worth the extra £300 odd pounds? I am hoping to use this with a 5D II and maybe a 2.8 70 - 200...

Hi Euan, Do you think i would be better going for the 70-200 2.8 canon IS with a 1.4 extender? Ive seen this lens for 1400 to 1500 and extender Mark 2 200ish or mark 3 500ish

i am not familiar with sigma lenses. do they have Image stabilizer built into any of them? the 120 to 300 2.8 would have the specs i was thinking of but are the results as good as from canon IS lenses

if you use an extender do you loose aperture on the 70-200 2.8 II

thanks Richard, i think there is about £300 difference between Mii and Miii extender. Do you know if the newer one is any better? What do you use the lens for ?

which version of the 1.4 extender do you have as i believe there are now 3. Thethird being a lot more expensive

At the minute it is more of a hobby so dont really want to go mad. Maybe somewhere between 1000 and 2000.
