    Nikon D600 / D610 Official Users thread - Anything D6x0 related

I had a hankering for the D600 as it seemed to be perfect - FF in a small(ish) body. Now with all the problems (?) with the sensor I'm not so sure. I've picked up a high mileage D3 now and am really tempted to keep this. Has anybody used both and which do they prefer? Has anyone gone from the...

Have you considered the Tokina 17-35mm f4? FWIW Uncle Ken rates it.

    An interesting offer – D600/D7100

I may be wrong, but I thought the kit lens was the new 24-85mm VR version.

    Nikon D600 / D610 Official Users thread - Anything D6x0 related

Yes it's going back. They didn't give the option of a replacement. Shutter count was over 2000. I'm going to leave it for now I think. I was considering getting one from the Airport if the price was OK. I don't suppose the cashback applies to those purchases though.

    Nikon D600 / D610 Official Users thread - Anything D6x0 related

I saw that Amazon were selling D600's for under £1100 in their Warehouse deals so I jumped in and bought one. It came today whilst we were out. It was out of sight so I wasn't worried about that but it had been raining so the outer box was a bit wet. £1100 and not signed for - asking for trouble...

    Which Nikon body for £350?

A D200 by any other name would be as good (or better). Sorry Shakespeare

good set up for sports on canon 7d

70-200mm f4L would be my recommendation if it is long enough for you. Either the standard or IS versions. You could go to the f2.8 is you can afford it and carry it. The Sigma 100-300mm f4 is also very good.

    Which Nikon body for £350?

There's nothing wrong with the D200 but it is quite a bit heavier than the D40 and takes CF cards rather than SD cards. The D90 would be a good bet if you can find one for that price. Lighter and smaller and newer than the D200 of course, and uses SD cards. The D5100 is a great little camera...

    Nikon D700 lenses

Nobody ever mentions the Tamron 24-135. It is a n excellent lens for the money. Still no sign of your budget. I prefer the Tamron 17-35 f2.6-4 rather than the Nikon 18-35. The Sigma 14mm f2.8 is also good, if you can find one, for landscapes. All of the lens mentioned are excellent but most...

    First dslr........

I wouldn't try using a teleconverter on the 70-300. It can work but not very well in my limited experience. I've found the 300mm to be quite adequate at airshows. For landscape you can't go far wrong with the Nikon 12-24 but if you are trying to get everything at once for £1k, you might...

What Lens to Hire for Airshow and Where from?

The 80-400 has 'relatively' slow AF but how relevant that would be to shooting aircraft I'm not sure as I've never used it at airshows. Obviously the planes this weekend will be somewhat slower anyway so it may not matter.

    which 70-200 2.8 for canon

For me, I would go for the Canon f4 IS purely on weight. I know it's not in the mix but that would be my preference.
