    Poppy fields

I spotted some yesterday as i was driving through Yorkshire. there seemed to be several fields with poppies in but i couldn't see how thick they were. This was on the A58 as i approached the junction (roundabout) with A168 (Boston Rd). Cheers

Multi Flash set up for birds

Re; my first post to the OP in this thread, after posting that i looked on the auction site. I've bought a Sunpak 3600. Guide no 36 with power ratio to 1/64 which means the reduced power keeps up with a motor drive and prevents "burn out".( as SK66) It also means your less likely to distress...

Multi Flash set up for birds

@Silver pixels- why not set your perch differently if you dont like facing the sun or do sone backlit shots- just showing there is always alternative answers to gaining a shot. Still not had a straight answer about using flash on a scgedule 1 bird near its nest by those who want to use flash at...

Multi Flash set up for birds

Hi all, Clearly, a lot of differing opinions and i've no doubt this has been discussed in great depth before. Thanks to all for the interesting contributions. It's a case of "each to their own" on this i think. PS .... You may find, "Split Second" interesting, one of a series of books...

Multi Flash set up for birds

Fair enough Den. We'll agree to disagree. On reflection, I've added this edit.; I've photographed birds over many years, going back to the days of 64 asa stuff, when, in this country, flash was necessary most of the time. In recent times, circumstances have meant that i had to make a set...

Multi Flash set up for birds

If your thinking of a specific set up for birds, say in your garden, you may find it cheaper to buy some old fashioned flashguns and 602 or 603 triggers. You can get sunpak or metz for reasonable money, (compared to the modern ones) possibly mains powered and they'll keep up with a motor drive...

    Murmuration

Hi I'm in N.E. Lancs. Does anyone know of a regular spot for this sort of action. Leighton is quiet i'm told. The Pier at Blackpool is the only other alternative I know. Any suggestions would bw appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Jim, Have you tried an old version of Canon Zoombrowser? You can still get the CD's on E bay, but i'm sure many on here will have some old ones. They still have an XP version downloadable from their website. Whereabouts are you? HTH's cheers

    Tamron 500sp Mirror Lens

Hi, I could get a Canon FD (pre digital) to EF (digital) adaptor. They are available on Ebay. I'm not familiar with the Nikon systems but i would imagine that you could find similar. Cheers

    Tamron 500sp Mirror Lens

Charly... How are you mounting this on your camera? The Tamron SP 500 had a changeable lens mount for Nikon/Canon/Minolta etc called the Adaptall 2.and, if I remember correctly, it was for the the mounts before digital camera's. I think that, even if you had the correct Nikon mount for pre...

Help with setting up 1d 4

My understanding of the tracking sensitivity is that the high sensitivity will make it pick up anything that moves between you and the focus subject. So, if you were shooting a football match, with lots of movement, it would be constantly re-focussing . I have one and the only adjustments i've...

    Canon 50D. A strange problem.

Many thanks for your responses, some of them in great depth and all are very much appreciated. Especially the bright and bushy tailed at 5.46 and 6.58 am LOL. My own conclusions were that, the image to the sensor being sharp, it has to be a mirror or focussing screen issue, the latter being...
