    Italian Dolomites

I've not received anything by mail yet. Still hoping to get the book this week (although my trip to the Dolomites happened a few weeks ago).

    Lake District Time Frame

I was in Skye this past weekend and there were sections where the ground looked distinctly autumnal with the amount of leaves that had fallen. Some heavy wind helped I think.

Non UK Lofoten Islands fly drive in September - advice please

I hope this isn't too late, but we found that the ebooks here: http://www.68north.com/ebooks/ were pretty great and reasonably priced. Some photos from my (first but definitely not last!) trip there: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sidaths/tags/lofoten

    Canon 5D v 5Dii

I think the 5D2 was quite a big jump over the 5D in terms of resolution and video features (i.e. taking videos, live view etc.). In terms of autofocus there wasn't much difference.

Canon 80d or Sony A7 ii

It would depend mostly on what lenses you would need to use and their relative prices. For landscape I would go for an A7 if you can afford some of the Sony lenses (28/2 or 16-35/4). Canon do have cheaper lenses that would work fairly well (not as good as the aforementioned) and will be cheaper...

    Travel Tripod

What sort of lens/camera combination are you planning on putting on it? For safaris, I've found that a small bean bag is more useful than a tripod if you're in a 4x4.

    Gitzo.....or not.

I saved up and went for a GItzo travel tripod (GITZO T1542T SER.1 6X) and haven't looked back. I've changed camera a few times, even camera system, and it's still going strong. One of the best investments I've made. I hear Benro are pretty good now, so if this were to break I will take a look at...

    Which gloves for photography

That was another reason why I haven't looked into them much :D

    Which gloves for photography

I spotted these earlier this year on The Camera Store TV which looked interesting: http://www.theheatcompany.com/en/gloves/heat-3-smart but to be honest, I just use some regular medium weight hiking gloves and keep warm by moving. If I spent more time in a hide and less hiking I would have...

    Adobe creative cloud £69/year

This is something I'd like to know as well. If this is possible then I think I'll be buying this...

BBC News: Tech companies blame price rises on Brexit vote

Sad times for the gear buyers among us :( On the bright side, the guilt I felt earlier this year for some gear purchases is lessened somewhat :)

(Another) Downsizing decision: Canon > X100t or A7II

Yup, Canon fit via a Metabones IV (and Metabones III after a firmware update). I've used it a lot on an a7R and the balance wasn't great, but for the quality I got past that pretty quickly. With the a7Rm2 the balance is even better and the focus is absolutely brilliant -- tracks well and I don't...

6 Stop or 10 Stop ND filters?

I'm not sure if you've pulled the trigger yet or not, but I've the Haida filters (which are Lee compatible) to be fantastic, with less colour cast than the Lee filters and they cost a whole lot less too (around £60 or so on eBay/Amazon). Here are some comparisons...

(Another) Downsizing decision: Canon > X100t or A7II

I haven't used the Fuji system, but have made the move from Canon -> Sony in the past 2 years. The a7 bodies are great for travel/landscape/portraits and you can't go wrong with them. I have a Sigma 35mm Art and it really sings on the a7 bodies, no mode focus issues.

    samyang 14mm 2.8 won't focus to infinity

@kendo1 thanks for that link. I have a Samyang 14mm that focuses well past infinity (which is a better state to be in than the OP's) but enjoyed watching that video nonetheless. @Lemaildetom should you attempt this, please report back :)
