well this is a refreshing thread - glad to see this forum is more about picture taking than what you take it with and you can talk about the merits of differant brands if you want to without being hounded out with regard to Pentax stuff s/h there is loads on ebay - i got some extension tubes...

Those lenses will fit any pentax digital slr to date e.g. K10D,K20D K7- you only need the adaptor if its an m42 screw fit lens the pentax A35 f2 will work very well as it will use the full matrix metering. hope that helps

Just to give you another idea this guy is a professional fashon photographer who shoots for Elle magazinge and Vogue and he uses a Penkax K20D so park cameras wernt far wrong on that one plus its about £900 cheaper now the new Pentax K7 is out. http://www.pbase.com/benjikan/publishedworks...

I would reccomend some net searching and forum use plus using your local library for books on the technical aspects of photography before you invest in a college course - then spend a good six months taking pictures

You could go on forever looking but the Nikon D3000 looks like an ideal solution
