You think about photography too much when......

This actually happened while meeting someone at an airport: "I didn't recognise you without a camera."

    Most famous Photograph Ever?

It's great seeing some of these pictures again, it reminds me how much more important the actual content of a photo is rather than exposure, focus and composition. Speaking from an editorial point of view of course...!

    Confused

The D90 is plenty good enough for sports shots, I use one as my second camera shooting cycling and am always impressed with it's photos, even under low light. The main reason I'd go for a D300 over one is because of it's sealed body, but then I've never had any problems using the D90 in light rain.

    DX to FX

I went up to a D3 from a D200 and the difference was amazing, it was like using a camera from the future. It won't be such a jump from a D300 to a D700 but if you can afford it then I don't think you'll regret it. If it's the first time you've had 2 cameras you will find that so useful if you...

    Wide-angle - say down to 10/11mm?

I'd go for the Nikon 14-24, it's as wide as I've ever needed and just an amazing lens.

    amazing volcanic pictures (not mine)

It's easy to spend an hour digging through some of the photos on that Boston site, they always cause me to rethink how I take photos.

    Why use manual mode?

I've used manual since I got my first DSLR, I like ulimate control over how a photo looks, and leaving the camera to decide the exposure does not work for me for various reasons. I often like shooting into sunlight which messes up the exposure readings and produces an image darker than I'd like...

    How do you pronounce ISO??

The letters for me, I've not actually heard anyone say eye so?

    un clear

If it has a dioptre adjustment (usualy a small wheel near the viewfinder), check that you've not moved that?

Help, i have not got a clue on this one

I once was totally paranoid I had a dodgy 80-200 f2.8, until I took the filter off and realised that the filter was the problem, check that before anything else!

Think you can ride a MTB

Same thing but a faster rider: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO0VLouJFNQ&feature=player_embedded#at=14

    Moving vehicles showing motion

I find for head on you need around 1/500 or 1/750 and from side on anything from 1/20 to 1/500 depending on speed, but that's just a rough guide.

    Foreign Travel

I try to get all my camera gear in a camera bag like a Lowepro Computrekker and take it as carry-on. If size and weight restrictions allow I have everything in there plus a laptop. I never let that bag out of my sight! If the restrictions are pretty severe I put things like flashes and my spare...

What is your favourite camera of all time?

My D3, I've had it for 2 and a half years now and have been hammering it. I forget it's there and that's got to be the highest compliment; I just pick it up and it's always got memory space, always got battery charge and always works!
