    Camera lost today in London

BTP did give me a report number even after saying it was lost property; the insurers were more than happy with it.

Good old John Lewis Insurance, I have their Plus Cover policy which covers personal belongings out of the home.

    Camera lost today in London

Reported it to BTP on the same day - they took the details but also took the view that it was lost property rather than a crime!

    Camera lost today in London

Southern Railways send all theirs to Victoria, already spoken to them and they'll call within 14 days if it turns up. Thats what I was hoping for, however Southern Railway staff at the stations were not very helpful, hopefully I'll get a better reception tomorrow when I go back. (y)

    Camera lost today in London

Fortunately I do have the serial number of the camera and at least 1 of the lenses - the more expensive one - so I can confirm whether its mine or not. I'm glad I decided against taking my 100-400 L series with me today as it was too heavy. Just waiting to see if my insurance will cover me...

    Camera lost today in London

Stupidly I left my camera and bag on the Southern Railway service from Milton Keynes to South Croydon at 10.30 this morning. We left the train at Clapham Junction, realised the bag was still on board but by then the train had left the platform. Chased the train down to east croydon in a faster...

Taking Your Own House Sale Pictures

The Property Misdescriptions Act is only really interested in people trying to obscure the obvious in order to mislead a potential buyer; i.e. taking a picture of the house at an angle that doesn't show the 100ft pylon nestling in the back garden or the power station quarter of a mile away. Most...

    Stoke by Nayland

Hi everyone, I'm off to Stoke by Nayland for a long weekend next week and would welcome input on good landscape or architecture locations in the surrounding area. I've planned a visit to Framlingham castle and also Flatford Mill but other than that I don't much about the location other than the...

    Macro Lens

I asked the same question on here only a couple of weeks ago and bought the canon lens based on the input from other users. I haven't taken any shots worth posting as yet but it is a great lens My wife has given up asking if anything I buy for a hobby costs more that £50 ;-)

    starter Macro lens

Wow, thats a quick response, thank you. I've tried tubes - which I borrowed - for a couple of weeks and really got hooked. I'll look at the Tamron and the Canon 100mm, I've got a budget of around £400 ish for the right lens

    starter Macro lens

Hi, I've only recently got into photography and new to the forum I've developed a real interest in macro photography. I'd be interested to hear other peoples views on the best macro lens to start with; I can't afford top quality glass but don't want to buy something cheap that won't give me...
