    Elements 10, shall I?

I think LR was there on Tuesday - Didn't see the price but it was there. Elements 10 was also the same price yesterday so keep your eyes open as LR may come up again.

What an idiot I am! Noob alert

I'd just develop them both, you get your shots but loose a film.

Where can I get a new lens cap?

Amazon are usually pretty reasonable. be careful with ebay that you do actually get a genuine one though.

Panasonic 100-300mm lens crop factor ?

Yep, it's still a 100-300mm lens but you will get the 35mm/FF field of view of a 200-600mm lens on a G3 (2x crop factor).

    M4/3 AND DSLR owners

I've just got myself a Panasonic GF3 with the 14-42 'kit' lens, so far I'm very impressed with it  I'm off to get the 20mm f/1.7 tomorrow as I think this will be my main 'walkabout' lens with this camera, giving an effective 40mm focal length.

    Data Backup software

SyncBack Pro - LINK I'd avoid the free Microsoft Synctoy like the plague if I were you as it has a habit of missing files and getting it's knickers in a twist if you try and sort any issues like this out.

Poll: Which Format do you shoot in?

    Raw or 35mm Tri-X

    Hyperfocal distance

You'd think that with all the processing power of the modern DSLR that a built-in DOF display on the camera would be standard. Just a thought

Lightroom backups - is it safe to remove old backup folders?

I always keep 3 backups on my PC, and these folders (catalogue) are also backed up to 2 external hard drives, one of which is off site.

    C41 B&Wfilms

As s162216 said, the Fuji and XP2 are very similar and quite a contrasty 'gritty' film compared to the Kodak, which is a lot 'smoother' and is more suited to portraits and gives a lovely tonal range IMO. The two types of film have their own uses but I always prefered XP2 personally. As already...

    RAW files

I always keep them (after getting rid of the rubbish), I recommend you do the same!

    Photoshop Elements

All that does is to show the thumbnails in Windows. It does not open and convert raw files in PSE.
