What transfer speeds do you get from your NAS?

My NAS server runs win7 with simple sharing over Gig Lan. I get 120mb/s copy and 110mb/s read no fancy RAID. I think it's a lot to do with the drives you have and the network adapters / drivers

    Best all round monitor.

I would say any of the Dell Ultrasharp range 16:10 ratio. Like this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-U2415-inch-IPS-Monitor/dp/B00OA2I362/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441934543&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+u2415

    NAS or not?

If you SMART is failing I would back up the data 1st. it might be a false positive but just be sure back it up. In my experience of 20+ years seageate drives fail most often, then IBM / HGST then WD. ( i work in a corp with 150,000 computers). In my personal experience I've never had Seagate...

    Best back-up solution

I would suggest you keep what you have in the PC and backup to the NAS. You can't have too many backups. Keep the icybox as a 2nd backup

    New iPad Pro...

the big issue for me with the MaxiPad is that it lacks mouse support. All the marketing bull skips that.

    PC advice please . . .

a decent 24" IPS full RGB screen will set your around £250 ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-UltraSharp-U2415-Inch-1920x1200/dp/B00O9ZGI58 ) that doesn't leave much for the PC. I would go for an i5 current generation CPU with at least 8gb of RAM and 256ssd + 1-2 tb HDD. so you have to spend about...

Buying a sofa - Anyone in the trade

I spent a lot of time looking for a sofa bed of a decent enough quality for under 1k. Finally chose to get it from the Furniture Village, they seemed the be the most decent in quality. I mist say they managed to screw up the delivery and then delivered the wrong foot stool, so not the best in...

    Would you take a re-test every 5years?

Used to be. On the road I live on , there is not a day gone by without someone loosing their mirror or getting their bumper smashed or the car scratched, cats get ran over quite often too. I also drive quite a bit in EU and can say driving is on par with the UK. ( apart from the motorways, no...

    Would you take a re-test every 5years?

The Police have been very lazy recently concentrating on Speed and ignoring other offences. I also despite living in SE London , hardly see any patrol cars around.

    Would you take a re-test every 5years?

London Cabbies are ok to me, it's the minicab drivers that are quite bad

    Would you take a re-test every 5years?

I am sure small part will go on and drive as before, but the amount of drivers I see that haven't got a clue when they get to a roundabout is rather large. It's more of a refresh, it could just be theory test, but I think an experiment/study needs to be done on the subject, and not a half arsed...
