Personally I would go for the Nexus. The price has come down recently, check out Amazon as I have seen some for £150. At the end of the day with any technology it comes down to your preference and budget.

Why not consider other major cities. Liverpool, Manchester or Birmingham all have great architecture old and new. Also have good night life if you fancy it???

I too love Street photography and I am learning more and more. Love a bit of graffiti work now and then. People and buildings together are interesting things if you look at things in a different way.
See if you have a local photo studio that does workshops. Appreciate this will be indoors but would get you help on directing a model and thinking about lighting.

For me, photography is an important expression gateway. You should be proud of what you have achieved and look back on where you started and where you are now. Have a flick through some of your photos. I am sure they are good and you should be proud.

I would recommend Photobox. I have had two albums from them recently. Good price and quick turnaround.
The software to work on to load the album is also easy to use.
