I usually use BBC online 24 hour forecast when I'm planning to go out for the sunrise. I check that the wind speed is low and I prefer partly cloudy conditions. Also google maps comes in handy when looking for locations as it easier to workout were the sun will be coming up.

I've had the same with my Macbook when using aperture. It seems to be when it overheats it will almost grind to a halt. Does the back of your IMac feel hotter than usual.
I bought the Digital Starter kit which came with the three filter triple pouch. In the first section I can fit the filter holder with CPL attached. In the second section I've got my ND soft grad set(in filter wrap) and the third section 2 more filters.
Haven't been there yet but New Zealand has always looked good.

A couple of the places I usually goto are Talybont Reservoir and Upper Neuadd Reservoir. Upper Neuadd has some good views across to Pen Y Fan.
