Focus point on open cockpit cars

Increase the depth of field, that will help getting the whole car sharp.

PLI and general insurance for trackside

Did that specifically cover trackside, not all PLI cover it, also cover your equipment for theft as you’ll end up leaving kit unattended in the media room whilst out on track. The cost of cover depends on how much kit you need cover for.

    Jessops Motorsport Photography Course

I was at Snetterton last weekend and saw a group of photographers on a Jessops Motorsport photography workshop. Considering these courses cost £149.00 what are the views from people who have been on one.

Thruxton this weekend - help please

Try and change location every couple of laps, stops you getting lead feet and just spending all day in one spot. It gives you plenty of variety of shots, some wil work some won't.

Severn Valley Railway 1940's Weekend - What Lenses To Take?

I'd take X-Pro1 and 18-55 lens, nice lens for wide panoramic scenes and for closeup work. If you need to get closer move your feet. It's also a small discreet camera for candid shots.

any 1 else find taking photos at Museums etc

Patience is virtue, just stand back and wait for them to move on. Why not use other visitors as part of the photo or if the museum allow it, use a tripod and blur the visitors out with a long exposure.

    Santa Pod raceway

There is a line painted on the ground, it is in front of one of the grandstands. I don't believe Santa Pod credit photos as they assume all rights. The media centre (portacabin) is not the best, wifi is slow at best. The staff are helpful.

    Santa Pod raceway

With press accreditation you can get trackside, but only up to a marker point. Santa Pod tend to ask for copies of your images on a cd, with unrestricted unpaid use. They say you accept this as a condition of getting a press pass.

    Oulton Park Paddock

Just to make you aware it is F3 Cup at Oulton Park, not the Cooper Tyres British F3 Series. 18 drivers are listed in the programme. British GT is simply stunning and worth the trip.

Looking for Pros that shoot the TT

I shoot 4 wheel motorsport and circuits demand £5m Public Liability Insurance before allowing you to sign on. I have an annual policy that along with my camera equipment insurance costs about £300 p.a. with www.aaduki.com
