Trying to find a UK insurance company to write a policy for the week during the TT. Anyone here that shoots and has media credentials?

Insurance for TT week? ... that's a good un. What other jokes you got?

Is your problem that of nobody will (photographers PLI) insure you for shooting the TT or that you only want to pay for a week and not an annual policy?

My experience of insurance suggests that you would pay like 80% of an annual policy for 6 months and maybe 50% for a single weekend.... assuming that you have all the credentials you need for accreditation, surely you will be doing more than just one event?

Bite the bullet, buy a full year - its sub a hundred quid anyway!

I shoot 4 wheel motorsport and circuits demand £5m Public Liability Insurance before allowing you to sign on. I have an annual policy that along with my camera equipment insurance costs about £300 p.a. with www.aaduki.com

I think you guys misunderstand what he's asking about. This is not a nice, safe, purpose built motor racing circuit where you're miles from the action and you need a long zoom to get anything. This is the TT where the racing happens on public roads and where wobbly motorbikes go past at 130+, often with no more than a couple of feet to spare. This is the place where death lurks around every corner. No insurer in their right mind would cover him for it.

But I think you will still find that the PLI insurance being talked about on here will cover you for the TT.

Thanks Stuart.. Had never heard of this race to be honest. Assumed it was a Go Kart race? No?

*snip*

As do you comrade, this is PLI, it doesn't cover the photographer against being turned into chopped liver, it covers everyone else from the hazard of having to pay for said chopped liver removed from their clothing and/or machinery.

My PLI policy has only three exclusions:

1) Aerial photography
2) Airside photography at airfields
3) Any activity at nuclear facilities
