    Aftermarket LP-E6 for canon

I bought one from Amazon (DSTE) brand, it claims it is 2600mah. I only bought it as a spare (back up) for a trip to Lapland as I knew I wouldn't have access to a wall socket to recharge the original one, I didn't even use the original one as the aftermarket one coped superbly with -2...

Canon 55-250 IS II vs STM

Forget the 55-250 and go for the Tamron 70-300 VC USD as it's much much sharper than the 55-250's

    Memory card problem

I've had a couple of transcend cards and I've had nothing but trouble from them. I only buy sandisc ultra or extreme and Samsung, I've been using them for about 4years now with no problem whatsoever (touch wood)

Tamron SP AF 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di VC USD any good

It's a cracking lens I bought one 2 years ago to replace my 55-250 and it is a sharp lens that can take a beating. Mine has been put through it's paces, holidays , sand etc and it withstand quite a bit of abuse if I'm honest and the images, well I would say 100% sharper than the canon 55-250 IS

    Tamron 24-70 f2.8 on DX

Go for it get the 24-70 it's a cracking bit of glass, as for those that say it's useless when you go out with one lens..... Erm no you're wrong as everyone shoots a different style. I often go out with just my 50mm 1.8 I like the range and it suits my style. No it doesn't suit everyone but it...

    750D and760D

I too have been wanting to purchase the 70D and now with the announcement of the 760D kinda gives me more options to choose from. Unlike some other members of this forum I like the larger camera body of the 70D as compared to my 550D. The build is better than the 550D or any of the current xxxD...

    Which GoPro?

Forget all the fuff about the sj4000 being better than the hero.. It isn't. I bought the hero for £99 the week it came out and have used it ever since it's superb and yes I did consider the sj4000 but in every aspect the hero basic it's better than the sj4000 and better than the hero3/white...

    IQ comparison advice

Thank you. I would be shooting at F/4 most of the time. I had the 15-85 and i left the aperture to 5.6 on that as I didn't want the exposure to change as I zoomed. I have a 50 1.8 and I only shoot between f1.8 and f4

On the market for new glass

I've had 2 Tamron 17-50, the first one was tac sharp the the zoom was so stiff I had to wrestle with it to get it to move, and it made a clicking noise as it zoomed, so it went back exchanged it and the next copy was soft on the left side at all apertures.

On the market for new glass

Not just portrait. Event, street photography, travel, family holidays. Which is why I mentioned all the others too in the original post. 35mm on a crop = around 56mm on FF which is good for portrait. 50mm = 80mm and 70mm = 112mm all of which are considered trditional focal lengths for portrait...
