Hi I have a 70d the sd card I am using is a Transcend I bought it brand new when I bought the camera off of here, last night I attempted to upload all the photos I had taken on it but only a handful successfully uploaded, the way I upload is to just connect my camera to my laptop. Does this mean that the photos that won't upload are in some way corrupt and I will not be able to save them or would it be worth trying a card reader!
Thanks

Try using Recuva with the memory card. You may have to remove the card from the camera and use a card reader or the laptops card reader.

Transcend from memory do come with a data recovery tool on their website which may be of use to you as sounds as if it's time for a new card.

Not sure what's happening with transcend, the cf cards I bought for my 7d years ago are still going strong but the recent micro sd card lasted no time at all...

The card is only a couple of months old! Only taken around 60 photos on it! Thanks both for your help! Will try and recover them!

what happens when you download direct from the card?

I haven't got an sd card slot in my laptop or a card reader which is why I do it straight from camera, it just says somthing like these files could not be uploaded as there not recognised!!

Did you format the card with the camera before you started using it?

I've had a couple of transcend cards and I've had nothing but trouble from them. I only buy sandisc ultra or extreme and Samsung, I've been using them for about 4years now with no problem whatsoever (touch wood)

I suspect you probably have a corrupted card, however I'd try a card reader just in case it's something else. cards do fail, even ones from reputable makes ( and I speak from experience) . Just a thought, can you see the preview image on the camera screen. If not I would seriously suspect the card. A professional recovery company may be able to get them back if a normal recovery programme can't. But that could be expensive.
