    influential photographers

I would love to say that there were famous photographers that have influenced me but I can't say that there are. I have viewed alot of don McMullen's post war work which I like but I am more influenced by various shots on Flickr, TP and pistonheads. Which I spend a lot of time viewing.

Good read. I am getting more involved in this side of things so it was very useful. Thanks

    edit or non edit??

I am from the generation where all of my 'serious' photography has been digital. Surely, the reason why digital is the more popular format is because of the ease in editing. I dont think that I have taken a shot where I haven't edited it. Don't get me wrong, if I could take the perfect shot...

    sigma 18-200mm

t'is a good lens for the cash. Mine is on the camera quite a bit due to it's versatility. It is not the sharpest and suffers from barrelling but what do you expect for the money.

War photographer's legs blown off in Afghanistan

I have just ordered the book. It looks like an amazing read on something that I find fascinating. I think behind being a top gear presenter, I would love to be able to be a war photographer. No doubt it is easier to say than do and I wouldn't like to have my legs blown off. I have nothing...

Lightning hit on Statue of Liberty captured

My initial thought was that the strike doesn't look like it is actually hitting the statue and looks like it is hitting the water behind it, which is strange as I would have thought that lightening would strike the tall statue rather than the water. Nice pic, just looks a bit suspect to me...

    Am I too modest?

I have always struggled to work out where I am placed on the ability ladder when it comes to photography. I know that i am not a bad photographer but as it's been mentioned already, I see faults in my photos that maybe someone without photo noddle wouldn't, thats why compliments from people I...

How long do you spend editing your images?

As most people have said already, it does depend on the intention of the shot but with something that is for a wedding or paid work then generally at least five minutes.

    photoshoot location - within london > forrest+pond/river

There are plenty of woods out my way. Jubilee woods which stretches Chislehurst, Petts Wood and Orpington has everything you are looking for, more streams than ponds. Kelsey Park in Beckenham has a Lake, flower garden, a LOT of bird life and VERY tame squirrells. There are woods off of...
