    - This is because PS can not directly convert from one colour space to another, so it uses the LAB space as a bridge for conversion. In effect you are proof previewing an sRGB->LAB->sRGB image and hence seeing differences. - here in the preview window you are seeing the above conversion...

    Just a stab in the dark, are you trying to Add (from the options at the top centre) the files directly from your camera? As this would leave the file on your camera with LR being unable to save the sidecar file to this location. Use Copy or Move to fix.

    I dont use Animoto, but if the video will play ok in vlc and not media player then its more than likley a missing or problematic codex in windows. My guess is that Aminoto encodes in h.264 format, so try http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ffdshow.htm, this should get media player working. VLC...
