I had the non vc version, I used it on a couple of inside low light church situations on a monopod. Brillliant lens with no complaints. Doubt you'll miss the vc.

Yep I'd do it for the goodwill etc. If they can't pay for images then you've lost nothing, but gained a contact and poss future work....

I've got 2 S5's and love em for people pics! Colour is fantastic. Yes you wouldn't want to shoot Formula 1 with it but its not ment for that.

Have you contacted Fuji? They may recover the card for you. (sandisk do this on there cards for a fee) I use Cardrecovery and Image Rescue 3 by Lexar both good.

Well done D.S. its good to get your pics seen, and for someone else to think they are worthy to be seen. Don't forget to use this to your advantage and perhaps phone the editor next time, make your self known etc. You never know where these things will lead. (or you could go in demanding...

I know Puddleduck, great lens a that price! I would still think about £525 is an ok price......

I'm after one of these myself (17-55). I missed one on another forum that had just been sold for £450.

I use a manfrotto 684B on a simple 234rc head. Fantastic piece of kit. I have had budget mono and tripods before but I think with a quality base your work will be better. Obviously Ebay's always a place to look for a second hand manfotto, probably get back near what you paid for it again...
