    Nikon D800......

I was at Silverstone on Sunday and used the D800 all day, on paper the 4fps is slow but if you have a fast enough card to clear the buffer you should be fine, that's normally my biggest issue. I had my gripped D300s with me but never felt the need to use it because I was missing anything. Of...

    Filter colour tint

I have some Hitech filters, they are good by themselves with no colour caste that I can notice, however I found when I stack my 0.6 grad ND and my 1.2 full ND there was a magenta caste. Found an image to show what I mean: It can be fixed in something like Lightroom with a graduated...

You can't do the update over Kies Air it needs to be done by installing the Kies desktop application: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP Then it will check for updates (I am on o2 so updated mine last night) and offer to update your phone, took around 10 minutes all...

Photo opportunities West & North Wales?

No worries, btw it's a toll road of sorts the last mile, IIRC it was £1.50 and free parking once you get there. There is a tea shop right near the lighthouse with toilets etc. Also there is Puffin Island as a backdrop to the lighthouse, found this if you are interested in birding. (not been...

Photo opportunities West & North Wales?

Penmon lighthouse is on Anglesey, 15 minutes drive from Bangor, nice for landscapes and the occasional bird, also spotted some seals close to the shore when I was there. Otherwise the lakes around Snowdon are nice to visit.

    D90 Wide Angle Landscape

I have the 12-24mm and love it, I think you will use the longer end more than you think, the focal range is quite handy for landscapes I feel, although I really did think about the 11-16mm, don't underestimate the f/2.8, there are times when I would find it useful, for example with such a large...

Luxury & Supercar Motor Show Nottingham

Might well be interested in this, I've asked them via Twitter if there are restrictions on taking photographs so will update if I hear anything.

    Feeling disappointed

If there is one thing I've learnt in landscape/outdoor photography is that you can't just turn up and take a fantastic photo in perfect light (whatever your definition of perfect light is at the time) within 5 minutes of getting there and then head home. Unfortunately in this hobby you really...

Best lens choice for New York trip?

To be honest I had my 35mm f1.8 and only used it on a few occasions, such as in dim restaurants but I was there in the summer

Best lens choice for New York trip?

Definitely wide, and definitely a telephoto for picking out buildings at distance to negate perspective distortion. I was there in June and had my 12-24mm (most used walking around) my 70-300mm Sigma (now gone) which in the end I only used for the Red Bull air race on at the time. Also took my...
