Use back button focus AND exposure lock possible?

On the 5d2, if you have that special function set to 3 then the AF on button will focus and start the metering and a half press of the shutter button locks the exposure... is it not the same on the 5D classic?

    trouble with my 70-200m 4.0L :(

Hi Nick, To really nail a shot like this you need to keep the shutter speed up way above 1/200th unless you have a really good technique. I suspect that the IS of the 55-250 was really helping you keep things sharp. Just keep the shutter speed up and practice, practice, practice! Going...

    Question about memory cards...

No difference at all, the data will be the exact same on all cards. The data transfer speed is the only difference.

    Canon wide angle

My vote goes to the 16-35 f2.8 MK2. My most used lens at present with the 24-70 in second place. If I had to sell one of them it would be the 24-70!

Canon Ef 70-200mm f2.8 is usm mkii

I sold the 100-400 shortly after my 70-200 Mk2 arrived. I found that the added flexibility of the 70-200 + 2x combo meant the 100-400 stayed at home EVERY time I left the house! The image quality difference is very very small and unnoticeable on an A3+ print possibly larger. The 70-200...

    Hong kong lenses

The courier company (dhl) in my case picked up the customs tab and billed digital rev. You should see no charges at all.

    Hong kong lenses

You should have no problems with digital rev. I had to replace nearly £4k of canon lenses in January in a hurry and digital rev didn't disappoint. I would have gone to Ian Kerr (Kerso on here) but he was on holiday and not contactable. If you do opt for digitalrev then be sure to order from...

Epson Inks needed urgently - what shops actually have them

I've never found these the usual places. I have only found them in jessops, as already said, and a couple of other independent camera shops.

How do you know if your monitor is PVA or IPS?

TN is not the best, no. A small explanation of the different types here - http://www.pchardwarehelp.com/guides/lcd-panel-types.php

    50mm f 1.8 is not enough!

I had 50 F1.8 on my 40D but as soon as I got hold of Sigma 18-50 f2.8 the 50 just stayed in the bag! I'd recommend either the Sigma or the Tamron f2.8 zoom.

How do you know if your monitor is PVA or IPS?

Looking at the spec. of this monitor, it is a TN panel. http://www.dell.com/downloads/emea/services/en/Value%20E1x7FP_EN.pdf

    The 70-200mm 2.8L

For me, the extra is money well spent. The IS is awesome in lower light. Don't forget that the IS lens is also weather sealed, which is something the non IS lacks, which was also a requirement for me.

    Digital Rev

I recently purchased 3 Canon lenses from their e-bay store listed as 'in UK - special delivery'. I assumed I would get the 3k+ worth of lenses the next day or at least quicker than through their store. The listings turned out to be lies and they sent the lot from HK using a duty/vat paid...
