Hi this might sound a bit daft but have been looking at lenses for my canon on a site called digitalrev which is based in hong kong there prices even with shipping seem really good my only concern is will the lenses work with a uk body and has anyone dealt with this company before good or bad. Any help would be great

Thanks Jamie

Well yes the lenses will work on your UK body with no problem!

Digitalrev have a presence here on TP , check out the trader sales dep. I haven't used them personally but it seems like a large number of people here have done without a problem.

I brought my first body from Hong Kong, I was over the moon with what i paid, was a little nervious at first with parting with my hard earned cash but it turned up in no time and was well pleased !!!

You should have no problems with digital rev. I had to replace nearly £4k of canon lenses in January in a hurry and digital rev didn't disappoint. I would have gone to Ian Kerr (Kerso on here) but he was on holiday and not contactable.

If you do opt for digitalrev then be sure to order from their web site to ensure you don't get stung for any customs charges!

One thing I'v never quite been clear on with there website is what happens with customs charges.

Do they actually pre pay them or to you pay the charges then go though them to get the money back?

I bought a Canon 70-300 L from them earlier this year. Apart from an issue with my credit card (they thought I was a fraudster!!) which meant that I had to pay by transfer their service was very prompt, I saved a significant amount on the price and I didn't have to pay any duty on arrival. So I would certainly recommend them.

Digital Rev are good to deal with, some of their stuff is now actually already in the UK

The courier company (dhl) in my case picked up the customs tab and billed digital rev. You should see no charges at all.

Thanks for all the great replys has give me a lot of confidence to try them out.

Thanks jamie

as siad there are a lot of people that have used them with no probs.
heres another company that alot of people on here have used and are very good, i brought a d700 of them, they are imports but but come with warranty and mikon and canon lenses have a world wide warranty anyway.

I recently bought my Nikon 300mm from them, saving me £200. No duty to pay this end & all done within a week. I paid through paypal for a bit extra reassurance but all good

Buy with confidence, no problems with DigitalRev in my experience.

Taxes, etc all sorted within their website price

Phil
