Not really - I'm looking for an additional body for professional purposes. Currently the 1D mk3 / mk3 S bodies I have don't really cut high ISO performance ... so it's a choice of either a new 1 series or the 5 series that will be able to cover all bases for me.
Thanks for the varied replies!!
Looks like the 1Dx is the leader so far. I have two 1D mk3 bodies (one is an S version but with the full frame comes one stop less ISO performance). I'm in a position where I need to save a little more for the 1Dx but if it ticks the boxes then that's the one...
Thanks for your reply - I do lots of star trail and indoor stuff, I'm a CPS member with 1D bodies and L lenses. I just want to know which of the new bodies has the best (cleanest) ISO performance ...
Hi - between the top end cameras (ie. 1Dx / 5D mk 3 / 5D mk 3 S / 5D mk 3 SR), which is the best performing for high ISO?
Am thinking application of indoor performance or for night landscape / star trail photography.
Thanks.
I did contact them and complain that I specifically asked for shutter count information but then heard nothing at all back from them on that subject - they basically ignored me. When I pressed them they said it was policy from Japan or something so I wrote back saying how ludicrous it was - they...
I believe this isn't available, the camera doesn't add the shutter count to the EXIF. ... Which is why I asked Canon for it.
Anyway that's not what my point is.
I had my 1D bodies in for a service and as I am CPS the turn around and communication was good.
I asked Canon to provide shutter count information for the bodies also but this wasn't supplied when they were returned.
When I asked why the shutter count information wasn't supplied they said...
Hi all - I’m looking to replace my *2-legged* Manfrotto 458b (the mechanism in one of the legs broke and replacing it costs just as much as a full replacement).
The thing I loved about the 458b was the insanely quick method of pulling the legs out – they just lock where they are. I think this...
Just talked directly to their service dept, he confirmed that the leg is not serviceable at all and it's a complete replacement. He did say he though the price was a little ridiculous and agreed that it basically writes-off the whole thing. He said that it was a known issue but it's well...
Yeh I know - but as I said above a new leg is £271 +VAT, however a complete replacement tripod can be found from £280. So it's more expensive to replace the leg than buy a new tripod!!
So you can see why I'd like to try *repairing* it and not *replacing* a leg.
