If that's not a gas boiler, but an immersion heater, then that's probably the problem - they cost hideaous amounts.
I live in a large 2-bed flat with computer running 24/7, all cooking electric, lappy and plasma on all evening and lights blazing and my bill is £33 a month!
If it's a company you use a lot anyway, be honest and you may well find they do something nice for you in return - especially if you're a good customer. Chances are they may well work out what's happened anyway......you know it makes sense.
And being honest here, although I wouldn't keep it...

You can put in a complaint about post overcharging - and he's very lucky that he's not got an INR claim on his hands sending an item like that uninsured!
We all make mistakes - I've managed to send SD items Recorded, but if pointed out to me (or if I realise)...

MJ - after finding my old Sigma zoom lenses don't fit the 400D, I'm saving a bit longer and buying Canon - or being extra nice to OH :D
I think my main question is, is it a better lens than the 60mm - or better for what I need it for? Is there a guide somewhere where I can compare the two?

I should have said......I've got a 400D so that means the EFS60 would be fine. Is the EF100/2.8 better? I don't mind spending the extra if it is (well....I won't be spending it!).
My OH is buying me a Canon macro lens for Christmas (:thumbs:) - one of the things I'll need it for is to do good close-ups of crystal objects and jewellery.
What would you recommend?

Just to let you know....I've spoken to Canon who were very helpful, said they would not expect this with a new camera and to return it for replacement. The retailer also agreed and it's now gone back and I'm awaiting a replacement :'(
