This is probably daft, but I'm a novice, so be gentle with my lack of knowledge!

Picked up my first DSLR yesterday - all good. When I tested it out today, the first thing I noticed were two great big flecks - one at 12 o'clock and one at 10. I've changed lenses to check and they're still there so it's not on the the lens, but the body.

I don't really know what to do for the best as I don't have any cleaning stuff and don't want to touch anything without knowing what I'm doing.

Advice please......:(

If its new I would take it straight back
A rocket blower might shift it if its a bit of dust but don't start raking around in there
There is far too much potential to totally screw things up

Sounds like dust on the cameras sensor.

goto youtube and type sensor cleaning.

Before getting worried about having to clean the sensor, are these two flecks visible on your images or when you look through the viewfinder?

Could it be on the mirror or focusing screen ?

Sorry for not replying sooner - am busy sorting today's orders and need to run to the PO in a min!

The flecks are visible through the viewfinder. Will sort out a sample pic for you asap. And thank you for so many responses - I knew it would be better to ask here rather than do any "rummaging" myself! :)

Just to let you know....I've spoken to Canon who were very helpful, said they would not expect this with a new camera and to return it for replacement. The retailer also agreed and it's now gone back and I'm awaiting a replacement :'(

Still - thank you so much for your rapid responses to my request and sorry I never posted a pic - couldn't get the transfer to my pc to work! :bang:
