    Hi

Hi and welcome. Think it all boils down to your preference. On my drives and computer, all of my folders are by date and location. But with lightroom, for example, you can also add lots if tags. Workflow is quite a big issue for many people- am sure you'll find the best way for you. Good luck...

M42 and film era lenses vs digital lenses

+1 for the Takumars. Fun, beautiful feel, and good results on my nikon. However I stress the fun part- for serious shooting I would miss AF too much:)

    Lens advice?

Shabba's advice is good. 70-300 is a solid lens. The primes you currently have are also excellent. How about an UWA zoom in the 8-24mm range (nikon, tokina, or sigma) and skip the mid-range zoom as your primes already cover that area? Good luck deciding!

    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

Thanks for the advice. Think may stick with 70-300 and use 85 or 105 for 2.8....until I look at another 80-200. Btw- it was a fun thread. Cheers .

Is equipment cheaper across the pond?

I liked the humour anyway. Thai prices are still cheaper than the UK, but it is not the cheapest in Asia for photographic equipment despite the nikon plant there! However, worth picking a lens up if you see one. Have a great trip.

    Very high end compact

Thanks for the info. Snapshot is a darned useful site. Think the oly will be the one as it still has f2.5 at the tele end. Though after all the investment, should just take out the dslr more:)

Had the same wish. Will probably get oly XZ1 tomorrow but will take a quick look at the nikon p300. Any thoughts on these two?

    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

Hi everyone. Does anyone have any experience with the 80-200 f2.8d on a d7000? Wondering if it would be a good(although heavier) upgrade over my 70-300vr. Have been offered one at a good price , used with the hood. Image quality and balance are my main concerns. Thanks.
