I have a Canon 30D and have been given a Vivitar 285 flash gun by my old man, who used it sucessfully during his photography days some 15-20 years ago.
Does anyone know if I can use this gun with my 30D? My concern is the voltage output from the gun being too high to run thru my cameras hot...

I'm going to try and capture a few more images using my filter in near perfect conditions ie bright blue sky days and see what happens. If that's still no good I think it must be the filter so I'll get hold of a Hoya R72 and try again.

I've converted to BW which is fine. i know the image is nothing special as it was only test shot but hoped it would work to some degree. I've fiddled and fettled the image in sooo many different ways but I can only get it to work as B+W. Am very very confused.
