Crazy-bad light flare dusk shots, lens to blame?

thanks for the replies - I finally spotted the ones in the sky which make me think i may need to adjust my monitor. the red ones in the building shadows - doh - how didn't I see them! Funny how unless you're looking for something and/or don't know about it the brain just ignores it as...

Crazy-bad light flare dusk shots, lens to blame?

ok in the interests of learning - can some one tell me and help me understand what the problem is as I'm not sure I can see it? the only thing i can see is the way the headlights look with the light forming rays rather than an even glow. thanks

I'm on Google Earth! How cool is that?

google earth of my place shows that my car isn't parked there - so probably a workday. Although there's someone in - as my beachtowel is laid out - so my 'workshy' flatmate must have been getting himself a beer!!!!!

    Cheesy or nice?

Thats good news that you can do a reshoot! Take a google around - there are some amazing equine photographers and pick a few poses that are impressive and try to recreate them - maybe have some pics printed out in your back pocket so you can refer to them. Horses I've been around seem to be...

Stolen items - an internet register supported by police

Hi We've just had some lovely chaps from the Police come to our canteen. Most of it was the usual stuff on locking doors and marking valuables with UV pens! Although I did mention that I don't like the UV pen thing because I like to sell things on and this devalues them hugely! They support...

    Cheesy or nice?

The processing doesn't work for me... Also (in my opinion - but I'm no expert...) its not an amazing composition of the horse... I think he would look more majestic with his head up if its going to be a present that hangs on the wall. Do you have the opportunity to go and shoot again - or are...

    Camera colour?

holds hand up in shame - I quite like the metallic blue on G1... definitely gimicky - but I would be tempted with a colour if it looked nice but otherwise was the same camera - just don't see it happening on the cameras i want! but possibly a future 'feature' on entry level slr's.

    gigrin farm

Went last year - really good to see these birds! You get lots of ravens as well and we had some buzzards feeding on the ground... My camera isn't suited for this type of picture so I ended up putting it down and just watching these birds fly and feed...

My weekend challenge... a bride on her horse galloping through fields

A galloping/cantering horse and rider in a wedding dress - while it can make a great image it may tell an unusual story if there is no groom - i.e. running away. To tell the story differently you could maybe have them heading towards a church - so it looks like she is riding to the wedding not...

How important is the title in the photo critique section?

For me its very important... I love this site but its so big I can't look at everything - so I usually open up each category but will only click on 5-7 depending on the title given. I know I will probably miss some beautiful pics - but there's a trade-off with time! I will pick threads where...
