I'm not 100% sure on this but I didnt think it was possible to extend the length of time a work is copyrighted for, even if you pass the rights on to someone else.

Its not, hence why there have been prints and/or ba$tardizations of it. (eg the spliff smoking lisa). after copyright is up, nothing happens to the copyrights, anyone is free to reproduce and/or copy the work.

I'm not 100% sure on this but I believe parts of london are illegal to photograph for any purposes other than tourist shots without prior written permission. That certainly covers trafalgar square although i'm not sure where else. (That prior written permission comes at a cost of £500 per hour...

I have never seen a TFT represent colours as well as a good quality CRT and that includes my calibrated work monitors (Dell 21" + Dell 24" widescreen). If you dont mind the desk space and want image quality above anything I'd reccomend getting another CRT even if they are getting rarer to find.

Seemed unclear as to whether he was on the farmers land or not, his response to the farmer didn't state he was on public land so therefore was right but was more a "you cant prove i'm in the wrong so shove off or call the police" Slander, libel and even breach of copyright are all civil...

Didn't he say exactly that? And why does the police have to be involved before someone will accept they are in the wrong (although by the tone of the OP he would have taken the pic anyway and then left before they could arrive) Common decency says respect the land-owners wishes. Perhaps...
