Depends how much you shoot really. Fresh batteries are always a good idea, and a great habit to get in to, however the pocket wizards are quite low drain (unless you forget to turn them off between shooting sessions!)
No major issues (despite what web forums would lead you to believe). Well not in my experience any way (your mileage as always may vary), though there are a few gotchas to be wary off.
1. Always turn on the flash, wait, then turn on the transceiver, wait, then turn on the transceiver on camera...
Clone out the van pfffft only if the client wants it, my time is too precious to be cloning stuff out for the web :lol:
