    UV lighting

I think you are talking about Ultraviolet fluorescence photography, invisible UV makes the object fluoresce in the visible spectrum. search on google or ebay gives lots of results for uv fluorescence items. I think reptile keepers use uv light sources.

    Artificial changing habitats (Rivers)

Have you spoken to the Environment Agency about this? Any changes that affect flow, erosion etc may be of interest to the flood defence people, and the general change may be of interest to the ecologists.

    Why 6 x 9?

try "Picturelizard" or something similar - they will cut any size hole in A4 mountboard, and pretty cheaply compared to high street art shops.

    Infrared filters - Update

E6 slide film, unexposed but processed is supposed to work. But you seem to be able to pick up IR filters quite cheaply on ebay.

    Cokin Infrared Filter Help

I have one. It seems fine. But exposures are long. If you are local (Merseyside) you are welcome to try before you buy. I now use converted cameras.

35 years since the end of the vietnam war

A very sad waste of life. Obviously Philip Jones Griffiths "Vietnam Inc." is a classic along similar lines. But his "Agent Orange – “Collateral Damage” in Viet Nam" is horrible. The ongoing birth defects associated with the use of dioxins is truly appalling.

Model Photography - Building my own studio

Do you know anyone who will let you borrow / use their stuff? Obviously have a look at internet, particularly Strobist.com You may not need full studio gear if you go down the strobist route. Have a good think about the space you have available and what you can fit in.

    DIY Background stands

keep an eye out, I got 2 portaflash light stands for less than £20, and an interfit cross bar for about £6. Calumet do full price cross bars for £20 something? or just use a 2" x 1/2" timber with holes drilled in for the light stands?

    DIY Camera Bag

I support your concept. I havent found any camera case particularly suited to outdoor activities. I tend not to use a proper camera bag unless its a really tame location. I have all my lenses in lens cases, usually with cheap sleeping mat material - from Blacks or somewhere as additional...

    Crosby Beach Statues

I regularly run along the sea wall and /or beach, and I have never had a problem with theft from cars, and have never seen evidence of broken windows etc. However a cautious approach would still be sensible, as would be the case everywhere else in the UK. The beach is safe if you are...

    Crosby Beach Statues

all of the statues are generally covered at high tide. The statues and sunset has been done to death - myself included, and sunset is still pretty late. So maybe consider some wilder weather, stormy with waves crashing, or maybe windy when the tide is out and you have drifting sand?
