    New, old stock Spitfires.

Certainly a story to keep an eye on. Let's hope those transport crates were built to last like the planes in them :)

    EOS 550D - new starter

I think £600 is minimum for 300mm+. I've just got a canon 400 f5.6. Options over £600 would include both new and pre-owned versions of: canon 300 f4 + converters, canon 100-400, canon 400 5.6, sigma 50-500 and sigma 150-500. There are many on the forums who speak highly of the sigmas and there...

    EOS 550D - new starter

I can help you out with that one a bit as that was my original aim in photography. I started off with a sigma 70-300 apo dg which was a great starter lens and a very good price too. For wildlife you can spend thousands on lenses so all depends on your budget. Have you thought about how much you...

    EOS 550D - new starter

Welcome! The 550d is compatible with canons range of ef and ef-s lenses and theres third party lenses like sigma and tamron that make canon fit lenses. What type of photography do you want to do? This will determine which focal length lenses to buy. David

    New DSLR or Lens+kit

For me the whole camera felt better for me, the weight and general feel is better than that of the 400D, more solid. The change in dial positions take some getting used to. I cant really comment too much on the output of my current lenses as at the same time I bought a 400 f5.6 and that has...

    New DSLR or Lens+kit

I've just upgraded to a 60D from a 400d myself. It is a big step up in my opinion but I can safely say it is the best move I've made. Have you had a hands on with a 60D?

    Lens collection, what is missing?

I don't want every length covered, its the quality of the sigma that's got me thinking. I think I need to look at the 70-200 in more detail after both yours and Doctorbobs replies. Thanks

    Lens collection, what is missing?

I'm sure a wide angle will end up in my collection sooner or later. It was a bit of a sweeping statement about wide angle and landscapes. There have been occasions when i gave been out shooting nature/birds when I'd rather a wide angle on the end of the camera than the 400 :) I'll check out...

    Lens collection, what is missing?

Have recently purchased a canon 60D and 400 f5.6 lens. This was the next step after my 400D. My lens line up is as follows: 18-55mm non is kit lens Canon 50mm f1.8 Canon 400 f5.6 Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6 apo dg macro I am not concerned too much with landscape photography so don't need a wide angle...

    Bag and tripod/monopod for 400 5.6

Picked a flipside 300 up from Jessops yesterday, had some high street vouchers left from Xmas and noticed you could use them in there, not the cheapest but the vouchers weren't being spent :) Fits all my gear in perfectly, thanks for the advice. David
