Got a canon 400 f5.6 on the way, not had chance to get out and look at bags with the camera and lens together yet but I am after some ideas as to what bag to look at/what people use already.

Also, should I be looking at a monopod or tripod for the 60D/400 combination. I'll mainly be using it for nature/birding so I'm thinking a monopod but could be wrong.

I'm open to any ideas

Thanks

David

Must have posted this at a bad time last night :( . Anyone have any ideas in this one?

I got a Lowepro Flipside 300 which takes the 400L with 40D/7D attached , got a Manfrotto 679B Monopod which is rated for 10kg weight so should be ok.
Tripod is Manfrotto 190B
Manfrotto 222 Grip Ball Head
Manffrotto 804 RC2 bought today .

Thanks Julian,

Just had a look at the flipside online, looks ideal. I now have the lens so I can look at the bag this weekend. Which head do you use on the monopod?

Thanks

David

To be truthful I havn"t got round to getting a head for the monopod yet and thought I could get away without on , just screwing the lens mount to it .
Know some people do that and just tilt the pod , several use the Manfrotto 234RC head on a pod.

Have you looked in classified section ? , got my bag and pod from there .

Julian

I was just having a look in the classifieds, I'll keep an eye on them this weekend.

Picked a flipside 300 up from Jessops yesterday, had some high street vouchers left from Xmas and noticed you could use them in there, not the cheapest but the vouchers weren't being spent :)

Fits all my gear in perfectly, thanks for the advice.

David

Just to let you know I am looking at buying the 243RC head for my monopod as people tell me I should be using one and will find it easier tilting .

Julian

Thanks, I'll check that one out, still looking in to which monopod too
