On a side note how are you all reading the the Exif data ... I'm in google chrome so can't display the image properties but if I save it to my desktop and look at the properties there is no data there???
Just looks like you have the shutter set way too fast...
EDIT: if you really want to reset everything and there are no menu options for it could you not just remove the batteries?

I have the 300D with the twin lens kit, I think the second lens might be different in mine (55-200) but I find I use this lens alot... yes its a difference of £149 but what other lens will you get with that range for that price? obviously if you were willing to you could buy the single lens kit...

Canon are probably waiting for nikon to release their next model so they can make sure the 60D is slightly better and release it a month later or something
not being a Nikon user I can't say what it's referring to, however if it is the image this wants changing.. you want more than 72 for printing that's for certain.
EDIT: try taking an image then opening in something like photo shop and it will tell you the dpi of the image
Well this is where making sure your feet are in the right place comes in... if you position your feet right then neither them or the monopod should be moving so there isn't a problem. Need to make sure you have a monopod that can get the camera up to eye level without having to bend too much as...

I would suggest the 50mm.... I can't see any massive benefit to IS on the standard kit lens... where as the 50mm is a quick way to get some experience playing with small depth of fields
