    Sony A7 users...

I saw a video sample of the 10-18 on the a7 and it had very bad aliasing, is that something that could be a problem for stills? As I understand it, aliasing is jagged diagonal lines right?

Hello, I'm currently using a canon 60d which as you may know uses ef-s lens', my most used being the 10-18mm. Now it looks like a Sony a7 may be coming my way with a kit lens, I will eventually purchace the 17-?? Wide angle FE lens but I'm just not ready to spend £1000+ just quite yet. So what...

    Tripod advice...

yeah landscape really, and for a canon 60d, I'd prefer a ball head as their just less bulky, but what panhead one do you have for sale?

    Tripod advice...

hello, I've been using a velbon df-61 that I picked up when I first took up photography, but its a little too heavy and big when collapsed and to be honest the head is maybe a little complicated for what I use it for... As in I really only shoot landscape so i don't need twist/tilt really. I've...

    Dynamic Range Question

I use Hoya circular ones, always worried with hard grads that they cut through objects in the foreground that break the skyline... How do you guys get around that?

    Dynamic Range Question

yeah I shoot in raw and do my editing in Lr5, the reason I started this thread really was that I know I can open up the shadows and bring down the highlights to try and even the exposure, but it never looks natural when you have to do it so much. I've started to meter on the sky for example, and...

    Dynamic Range Question

I'm sure I'm not, but maybe that's another bonus of a wide DR, if I don't expose correctly, it gives me a bit more of a margin for error.

    Dynamic Range Question

thanks for the replies, with out getting into the old "Vs" argument, would I be better off getting something like the A7 over the canon 6d or the 5d mk2? Does the extra DR of the A7 make it more worthwhile for landscape photography?

    Dynamic Range Question

thanks for the detailed reply, I have been considering the a7 too, and heard exactly the same quote that it produces a better file to work with... Do you think the larger DR has something to do with it? By that I mean it should collect more usable info and will actually give you more room for...
