So it sounds like the best thing to do is get a 120-300 see how that is then carry on saving for the canon and probably by then want a 400!

Hello, after looking at the many 300's for canon and not getting anywhere I thought it'd see what everyone here thinks. What are people's thoughts on the - Canon 300 2.8 mk 1 Sigma 120-300 2.8 Sigma 300 2.8 Tokina 300 2.8 I'd prefer not to spend over £1500, used isn't a problem. Is it possible...

70-200 2.8 whether it be nikon or sigma springs to mind . .

I'm using this set up also, no complaints here! I'd like to upgrade to the 24-70L but the smaller size of the 28-75 and price tag make it hard to justify.

The on board flash can produce good effects in some circumstances, for instance a lot of metal bands like the dragged shutter and light trails look, but it depends on what type of band you're shooting and what they want really.

I had one awhile ago, and whilst it is old and does show it's age in some areas the 17-40 doesn't really compare, if you need f2.8 you need f2.8.

after doing the switch myself, as much as I love my 1D MKIII it would have been much easier to wait an extra month or two and stay with Nikon, might be worth just waiting that bit longer in the end.
