    Manfrotto Tripod

    Hi! I just got that tripod and am using the Manfrotto 496rc2 ball head, I think they're about £45. It's working great for me with the 7D.

    Street photography - is it worth it?

    If requesting permission from someone I usually find it helps to approach them and strike up conversation for a minute or two first. In my experience if you build up some rapport, they will find it hard to say no when you do broach the subject.

    7D settings

    I took off the Silent Shooting mode because some one told me that you can't achieve full 8fps with it on. I suppose it depends if you need the speed or slightly quieter shutter.

    Lightroom 3 or Aperture 3 on a Mac

    Another one for Aperture here, tried Lightroom but Aperture just seemed more intuitive after initially starting to use PP on iphoto.

    How can I tell if my Canon is official UK or grey import?

    I bought a 7D from a high street shop a week ago, the box was still security sealed and when The guy in the shop opened it up so I could check it all and there was a 2 pin cable in there as well as the uk cable.It has the CE Mark on the bottom of the camera too.

    Protection Filters - To Use or Not to Use

    Thank you canonman! I'm also using a 7d, the lens is the 17-55 2.8. I think maybe I should take my camera into my local camera shop and fire off some test shots with and without the filter...Unless any kind hearted TP members have any laying around that they'd be willing to upload here :)
