I'm going to the SA vs Eng 20/20 game at the Riverside in August, and wanted to take some shots. Problem I have is that I've only got a 70-200 lens which is just not quite long enough to get really good shots.

Is there a good hire place I can get a zoom lens upto 400mm-500mm in Newcastle (Sigma 50-500, Canon 100-400)?

There's a chap called Stewart who is a trader on here and has a website called www.lensforhire.co.uk.

He can be contacted on here by PM or through that website.

Never used his service but from what I read, his service is excellent:thumbs:

Have you checked what type of cameras/lenses you are allowed to take in to the game? The reason I say that is that I went to the new Wembley Stadium in April and there you are not allowed to take in DSLRs only small compact cameras.

is there no one on the forum in your area who you could borrow one from buy him/her a couple of beers to say thankyou :):):)

Yeah, I attend alot of the cricket games, and DSLR's are fine.

Well, if you don't find someone you can borrow from, we have a whole bunch of telephoto options at LensesForHire. Several customers have got good results photographing cricket with the 100-400L.

Thanks Stewart,

I've had a look at your site, but not sure I can justify £36 for 3 hours of shooting non-commercially. If you had a 1 day option (at £15 or so) then I may have bitten but i understand it wouldn't really be worth your while hiring less than 3 days.
