I am quite interested in getting Zeiss 18mm or 21mm, ideally for Canon

Are there any deals in FOCUS (missed it yesterday) or failing that what is the best place to buy them elsewhere?

I want something a bit better than 17-40mm and realised that 16-35 II won't cut it for me either given the price tag.

Take a look at the Samyang lenses. Much cheaper but still very sharp. I have the 14mm f2.8 and 24mm f1.4. At £260 and £460 respectively they are a bargain. You do have to manual focus though as there is no auto. I recently sold my canon 24mm f1.4l ii after comparing the two brands. I think Samyang are at Focus this year.

I've got 14mm and fairly happy with it, but it is not a substitute for good 17mm that takes all filters. In a way 14mm is usually a bit too wide, while 24mm is already well covered.
Unless I can somehow fit Tokina 16-28mm with Lee kit or once again adapt their DX range

Thinking again that Zeiss 18mm has far too much vignetting to justify £1k. After 2-3 stops recovery there will be serious noise. I guess I either get 21mm or leave it.
