I have been searching and cannot find an answer, but also no one else talking about the issue so maybe i am going mad!

Z7 with L Bracket attached, add wired remote shutter release via DC2 port = no way to mount the camera in the vertical position on the arca mount as the bulk of the remote release connector is in the way ?
Am i missing something or is this a thing ?

From what i can see there are no options for remote release that dont connect to the DC2 port ? (snapbridge is not really an option)

Thanks in advance

Rob

Yes, it's a thing with many or even most cameras and L-brackets. They all have cables plugging into the side, and it's a right PITA. Camera manufacturers should really pay more attention to tripod use in general and give the whole thing the consideration appropriate to the actual use of expensive gear.

Some L-brackets have cut-outs or extending rails to accommodate cables, or there are spacers available. I have one but cannot find a link for it, and I don't actually know where it is. Obviously I don't use it much, but that's because my Canons have an IR remote control sensor on the front ;)

Suggest search eBay or if you're feeling flush RRS usually pay good attention to this kind of thing:

Cheers, thought I was going mad!
Spoilt with the D81010pin connector being on the front so never had the issue. Nikon not having any other options in the Z7 is disappointing, annoyed at my self for or checking

thanks for the info.

Just to report this arrived he other day, had a chance to attach to the camera last night.

Well engineered bit of kit, fits very well / perfectly to the Z7, still access all relevant parts as needed.
The slide out vertical arca plate is secured by a hex bolt (the plate has a built in allen key) and moves out enough to allow cables to be attached and used.
The height of the plat is just perfect to allow my pinky finger to now have somewhere to rest, makes it much more comfy to handhold - nice bonus feature.

Overall very impressed and significantly cheaper than the RRS equivalent, especially in the UK.
