Morning all,

As I get 1 year closer to heaven tomorrow, I'm thinking of a nice birthday tea to celebrate. I know the missus should be cooking it, but she ain't the best cook, so I'll put something together instead. I'm thinking of digging out the slow cooker I haven't used for a while and mebbe doing a lamb dish of some form, probably using a joint or some shanks.

Does anybody have any good tried and tested slow cooker suitable recipes that I could nick? :D

Mmmmm curried lamb shanks in the slow cooker. Will try and dig out the recipe for you. We had it Saturday night at my cousin's, yummy :D:D:D

Have emailed my cousin's other half to see his recipe and this is what he sent back:

From my head.

Start off by browning the lamb shanks. Then you make a curry and put the lamb shanks back in and put everything in the oven and cook for a minimum of 3 hours. And I don't measure what I put in so it's anything that's at hand.

Sorry - it's a bit vague!! I suppose a vegetable curry recipe from BBC Food would be okay?

Sounds good, I've got a couple of half decent curry recipes so I guess the clincher is browning the lamb and putting enough curry liquid in the cooker so it doesn't dry out! :)

Cheers Kelack
