Yummy...birthday tea..I'm thinking Lamb..

Morning all,

As I get 1 year closer to heaven tomorrow, I'm thinking of a nice birthday tea to celebrate. I know the missus should be cooking it, but she ain't the best cook, so I'll put something together instead. I'm thinking of digging out the slow cooker I haven't used for a while and mebbe doing a lamb dish of some form, probably using a joint or some shanks.

Does anybody have any good tried and tested slow cooker suitable recipes that I could nick?

Mmmmm curried lamb shanks in the slow cooker. Will try and dig out the recipe for you. We had it Saturday night at my cousin's, yummy

Have emailed my cousin's other half to see his recipe and this is what he sent back:

Start off by browning the lamb shanks. Then you make a curry and put the lamb shanks back in and put everything in the oven and cook for a minimum of 3 hours. And I don't measure what I put in so it's anything that's at hand.

Sorry - it's a bit vague!! I suppose a vegetable curry recipe from BBC Food would be okay?

Sounds good, I've got a couple of half decent curry recipes so I guess the clincher is browning the lamb and putting enough curry liquid in the cooker so it doesn't dry out!
