Youtube playback issues on iPad

Hi, now and again the video quality on my iPad drops drastically and the video is very out of focus.

This doesn't happen while watching videos I have uploaded or have taken with my iPad.

I thought my ISP may be chocking me. In fact while I usually get around 15mb, having run a speed text I'm currently getting under 1mb!

Any reasons for this?

You might want to check your service/complain to your provider, you aren't going to get a decent video playback if your speed has dropped that drastically.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a quality control on the iPad version of YouTube, I have seen it on the PC version but not on the iPad.

Cheers, I'll run a speed test again and contact ISP, if needed.

Mine does this all time time.. Really annoying. Any video over about 2 minutes is unwatchable on the iPad.


Laptop isn't much better. Can't wait to get shot of Virgin.

I'm with Virgin as well, and have had absolutely no problems with video playback (YouTube, iPlayer, SkyGo). I'm not even on their higher plans, I think it's L 20 Mbps.

It must be area dependent, I'm in an old Telewest area that was 100 % cabled before it was taken over.
 
I'm on 60mb, anything streamed in the TV like I player is unwatchable too, even through the Virgin box, on demand stuff is a no go, Apple TV is no go, airplay from iPad etc.
Even through a wired connection on my pc, youtube is still very hit and miss.

Fed up with ringing them every few days only to be told "everything seems to be working correctly"
I can assure them it isn't bit they don't really care about it, as long as they get their £50 a month.
