YouTube Kit... Sony Zv-1?

So, 18 month ago I sold all my camera gear to fund a side hustle / business venture.

Through a series of twists and turns ive ended up a youtuber.

Now, im back in the market for a new camera, budget £800, and different use to what I had before.

Im currently doing the merry-go-round of reviews and getting refamiliar with the models on offer.

But I'm looking for advice and suggestions from you to :)

Here's what I need :

+ Good at stills
+ Not bulky
+ Good Auto focus
+ 4k (with no 5 min limits!)
+ fully articulating screen

I mainly shoot stationary from a desk rather than walkabout / vlog.

I started looking at the new Sony ZV-1 and it ticks quite a few boxes but I've also read some poor feedback too.

But yeah at the moment I'm spinning between the lot, Fuji, Panasonic, Olympus, Canon....

HELP ME Please :)
 
The only sensible criticism of the ZV1 is that it's barely wide enough for it's declared #1 task - but with full stabilisation off and a way to hold it out a bit even that is debatable.
The lack of longer zoom might be an issue too but with clear image zoom on it reaches to about 105mm equivalent I think.
In some ways the VII has the edge but it's a lot more more expensive.
If you aren't used to Sony menus it's a bit weird at first but this model is designed to do everything for you in auto if that's what you want.
To a large extent it is a camera which will do everything pretty well. If I only had one it would be this. I think £699 if you are quick (it will go up £50 soon) is a good deal.
 
@4wd thanks for the suggestion. I watched a few videos on it and instantly thought this could be what I want. Good quality, convenient, the zoom I'm not too bothered about as generally I don't walk around with it.

But the age old trick of reading to many reviews caught me out. Saying that stills are about the same as a smartphone didn't really blow me away given the price.

My only other downside is, I used to have Canon and fuji. I like interchangeable lenses but realistically I'm not going to be collecting glass like I used to anyway.

That's my issue. I think this is a great choice for full auto... But my head still wants manual, and all the bells and whistles. I can't actually find many with full articulating screens (which is a priority) to compare it to.

Stills are the same as the RX100s, ARW raw and very good. You can use full manual in photo or video but it's all from the back dial you switch between options easily enough.
Smartphones are good too but they don't have articulated screen or sensible manual control beyond EV+/-

That's great thank you, just watched the videos above and it's almost sealed the deal. Does pretty much what I need, I just need to get over that 'expecting a camera to do everything!'

Same here but it's still 'picking' at WEX - Tuesday or Wednesday I guess.

First point, I think this tells a lot more about how far computational photography and phone camera have come along than anything about the IQ of a ZV-1 . Not sure it is even accurate and I am assuming under plenty of conditions the ZV-1 will be better anyway.

Second point is a lot more problematic. I had Pentax and Nikon APSC cameras for a while till I decided to swap everything for something much smaller. Went for the RX100 (can't remember which version but defo back in the day that they did not cost £1k+). Used it for a couple of months and sold it. I like the flexibility of EVF and lenses I do not goard lenses but I have 4 for my current Fuji setup if I need something super portable I have my iPhone but I do not vlog... so that might be mute point as far as you are concerned.
