Anyone see that on the apprentice last night? Man that was classic, best line since alan sugar said "A fly has a lot of enthusiasm, it doesn't stop it head butting a window"

glad Stuart (David Brent) Baggs is gone. Stella will win easily next week, she's been the only decent candidate all along.

:D I do wonder how long it takes Lord S to come up with them. I am glad Stuart is gone but got to be said he was great entertainment. I really wanted Joanna to win but I still liked the way Sugar let her go.

I hope Stella wins.

I liked it when he said - you're just a baby and whilst I accept you believe that - it's not long since you believed in the tooth fairy.

I don't know how many recover their reputations after the on screen maulings they get. It can't do their own businesses much good at all.

Good show last night. Stuart drove me nuts tho... glad he went! Jamie was too wishy washy - bless him.

I kinda like Chris in a monotone sorta way

Like Stella too, but if she'd been showing me around London, I'da asked for my money back ;)

Stella to win - ya know, us gals gotta stick together

i want Stella to win, glad ball baggs got the sack, just wish it had been last week then we could have had another week of the loverly Liz

I agree with Lord S, Stuart wasted Liz's chance last week and she was a lot better candidate than he was!

Joanna was let down really nicely, and looked stunning on the "you're fired" show last night.

Stella to win, she deserves to.

you mean many of them have real businesses, seriously? about 90% of them couldn't run one if it came up and punched them. I'm not sure how you'd further damage the reputation of the 'unemployed head of communications' or whatever he was

but they damage their chances of getting an actual job when they go for one

Serves them right then! If you're going to be a pr1kk, best not do it on prime time national television where many employers may be watching.

I think 2 maybe more of them were involved in the banking sector, no wonder the banks needed to be bailed out!

Arn't the final two both from the banking sector??

Lord S said to stuart... 'you're just full of *****'....

couldn't have put it better myself. what a to**er that kid is.

Surely Surallan's best line ever was "You should have been sticking to him like ****** to a blanket" from years ago (still sticks in my mind). Or Nick's "on them like a tramp on chips"

It was a good one last night - I knew Stuart was gone with "Margaret!" - he was doomed.

It took Sugar far too long to get rid of him. He lost credibility last week when he dumped Liz and kept the "The Brand". Have to say though, he went out in style :D

Steve

that happens when they open their mouths at interview. I doubt most of them are remembered 30 mins after you're fired has finished

What amuses me is that they're all on that show boasting about their entrepreneurial skills, surely if they were entrepreneurs they'd be running their own businesses, not applying for a job with Sugar?

I think you'll find that none of Sir Alan's previous apprentices work for him any more ..... what does that tell you?

Given that "The Brand" runs a company that turns over £3m a year? ;)

Anyway, how come we never get to hear what happened to the previous winners? I reckon they get jobs in the post room, the six figures includes the pence! :D

I think one or two do. IIRC one of the guys that won a few years ago now runs one of his business divisions, However, I see FITP's point, if they were so bloody good, they'd be too busy to spend 3 months on the TV.

Steve

Loved it last night.... Baggs just doesn't know when to shut up.... 'But I can be' after a considered pause (and still chose to retort) when Lord Sugar said 'The Brand?... you're 21!' He has been entertaining though give him that and he took a real beating in the interviews. 'I felt like I'd gone in and told him I'd run over his dog, he was so mad with me' LOL He'll watch it in years to come and squirm. Margaret's face when he greeted her with a 'Hi Margaret!' And with another interviewer he asked him his name half way through *** he forgot... 'I see your attention to detail has a short timespan'..... Class!

Liked the way Lord Sugar let Joanna down. Put accross in a caring and well meant genuine way.

Stella to win. She's the only one with any integrity and I could see her working in that environment. Chris has an answer to anything and has just learnt to speak management bol***s

If the Thames is the second largets river in London, whats the largest ?

STELLA TO WIN

Inerviewer - "Stuart, you're not a brand... you're not a brand."

Stuart - "I might be ?!"

PMSL - what a c#ck

Just watching 'Why I fired them' ...... What is it with these people who can't simply put a phone to their ear? ..... Why do they have hold it out in front of them like a sick bowl .... prats

I guess because the phone is in "speakerphone" mode, so the other people (and possibly the camera) can hear the conversation as well.

Perhaps? ... but I see it all the time, it's a pose, a case of look at me I'm in business..... Ever seen those who stick the phone to their ear and just speak loud enough for everyone else to hear what they are saying  Then they walk around in little circles, totally oblivious to everyone and and anything around them :cuckoo: .....

Cant say I've ever seen anyone do it unless they're with other people who are part of the conversation...

As for walking around in circles, I do that, but no more oblivious than most people just walking down the street in all honesty

i've seen it a lot. it's usually big headed buisness people who think they are the bees knees, either that or it's people that are too cool for school.

They could be using the videophone function and just be keeping the phone at a decent range for the camera to work better. Only used the function once to see if it works and it does need to be held a fair way away from the face to avoid the big nose.

It's for the benefit of the camera - they do it on Location, Location, Location too. It's not good TV hearing one side of a conversation only:

"Hi... yeah......OK.........Really?........How much........OK.......No........not really.......OK.........OK........right...........£250........OK.........OK, bye!"

but as long as there is a microphone recording the other conversation the audio doesn't need to be coming from the actual phone. they can splice the audio in for the tv show.

But they do need the other candidates to be able to hear, so they can take the pee afterwards. Without it, we would not have had the classic "Spoon feed" performance from S(hopping) Baggs

yes indeed

Apparantly Joanna was at school with me, just a few years younger....

Never watch the show before this series. Glad Im watching it now!

The Sugar line of "you're full of ****" had me rolling about.

Being fair, to get an understanding of the behind the scenes stuff you need to read Alan's book What You See Is What You Get (on Kindle too btw) and it explains it all plus everything else in his life thats lead to his successes and failures.

For instance he says in his book its the two advisors who tell him whats been going on, he doesnt watch replays - if he did that he wouldnt need advisors. So thats why Stuart blagged through tho last week was a joke when Liz went.

What I laughed at was the guy from Viglen who grilled Stuart then said an ISP is an internet service protocol - surely its provider - come on fella, at least get the terminology right if you're berating someone on TV!

Jamie was ok but did come out with some faux pas - but when you're in a pressure cooker and talking on a bus out of your comfort zone for 5+ hours then a camera crew is likely to catch your 3 major balls up and make a fool of you.

A few weeks ago there was a programme where Piers Morgan spent some time with Sugar and he said that what we see on The Apprentice is the version of Lord Sugar the producer wished to be portrayed.
TV - things are not always as they seem.
